Coco Farm Business School (FBS) Program for Coconut Farmers

Cocolink participated as a local training service provider in the 2023 Coco Farm Business School (FBS) program for coconut farmers in South Cotabato. This project, spearheaded by the Coconut Alliance and backed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), aimed to equip farmers with business skills and a more commercial mindset.

Encouraging the application of business techniques through practical exercises
Key Achievements
Successfully trained 90 coconut farmers in the Coco Farm Business School curriculum.
Project Goal
To enhance the sustainability of coconut oil production throughout key coconut-growing regions in the Philippines. This includes:
Increased productivity within verified LandScale regions.
Sourcing coconut oil from LandScale-verified regions.
Improved farm incomes for participating farmers.
Enabling replication and upscaling of the project model for broader impact.
LandScale Explained
LandScale is an innovative approach currently under development to promote and measure sustainability efforts across four key areas: ecosystems, human well-being, governance, and production. The Philippines is hosting one of the first-ever LandScale pilot projects globally, focusing on the coconut industry.
